PADI Open Water Manual

It is NOT a book for pleasure. It is also a college class you can take.

I read this book because I was getting a Scuba Diving Certificate to get it I had to complete a test, and I have read this book get ready for the test.

This book has no story, it is for educational use.

It was explaining what you have to do in emergencies, etc. But this book had a lot of new and unknown stuff for me that actually shocked me. I learned a lot of different things as this book was educational, the list of things that I have learned is very big. I recommend this book to people any ages and to all people want to have a scuba diving certificate. I give this book a rating 5 out of 10 because it was boring. This book is extremely informative and provided all of the necessary knowledge that a diver needs in order to get certified.

The book uses pictures throughout it to help the readers to visualize what they will be doing in and out of the water. If you want to learn about diving, this book is the way to go. It is interesting and keeps the reader engaged. Overall, PADI does a great job writing this book.

PADI test questions

Other factors also affect air consumption; body makeup, depth, fitness, sea conditions, how effectively you use your fins and even water temperature! Your first dive should be a minimum of 20 minutes and on average first dives usually range from 25 — 40 minutes but some first timers manage a full hour.

I wear glasses, can I still dive? Yes absolutely. One option is to dive in contact lenses — daily disposables are best in case you lose one during some of the mask skills which can happen from time to time. If you are not a contact lens wearer then a prescription mask is a great option.

If you are long sighted have difficulty reading but are okay with distances , then you can download prescription stickers that you apply to the lower section of a regular mask — much like wearing reading glasses. Your dive centre will supply you with a book and a DVD comprising five different chapters. If you can confidently answer the tests within the chapters and the knowledge reviews at the end of each, you will likely pass the exam without difficulty.

Depending on your learning style, it is possible to blitz through chapters on one night and on the second. Naturally, if you have more time to play with, then feel free to split up the studying even further. They seem complicated at first but are straightforward once you have been through the booklet.

Check with your instructor if you will be using the manual tables or an electronic one. If the latter, you will only need a loose understanding of the former. According to my instructor, most nervous divers have difficulty clearing the mask I certainly did! If you have a snorkel and mask, practise this skill yourself before the course.Millions of people have learned to scuba dive and gone on to discover the wonders of the aquatic world through this course.

How to pass the PADI Open Water Diver course

Thanks to this manual I learnt a lot of the theory in advance of my open water diving which was tremendously beneficial and helped me to get more comfortable under water. Get started now! I'll be definitely keeping this manual on my shelf to refer to again.
