The patient undergoes a series of twists and turns so that the contrast passes through the entire large bowel.
The contrast is emptied and air is passed through the same tube to insuffl ate the large bowel. A thin layer of barium coats the normal mucosa, allowing mucosal detail to be visualized. I believe to use as a reference book for the practice of medicine, as a physician, this is a great book.
