Getting this review out to those who are looking now before the Deluxe Edition is released for Sale and is currently in Pre Order Status. This book delivers extremely concentrated content written on a college level with advanced terminology starting right away in the first few pages of the first chapter; and going forward throughout the book. Here is an example: The name Sandy Bridge is used when discussing chip sets and processors, without explaining what this Intel Code Name represents.
This book disseminates information in a very concentrated and sophisticated manner. I am literally studying every paragraph thoroughly and learning and seeing a lot of new information. I really do like this book. It is good for instructor led training, experienced technicians, and those who have already had some formal training on the subject.
I am still reading this, but I had to get this review out to help those who are currently looking at the series in January before the other books have been released for sale.
Bring coffee. Lots of coffee. This book is so thorough you will need a thermos of coffee to get through each chapter.
There are tests for each chapter and the answers with rationale are in Appendix A. I bought the paperback after endlessly scrolling through the eBook version my school had, and hard copy was much easier to use.
The pictures are black and white so some small details are hard to see. Search on "computer connectors" for a better look at those.
