This book gives a condensed but great history of art. I enjoyed reading and taking the class. Skipped a few chapters not assigned.

I didn't completely finish the book, I sold it before I finished the last 2 chapters. I found the book to be very interesting and informative. Read this textbook for a college Art History class. Some of the chapters drag on with so much info doping.

However this was still a good art book with clear images.

For a book that is meant to help you appreciate art, the illustrations were gloomy, unclear and lacked any vibrance whatsoever. I'm taking an art history class with George Wythe College via distance studies and I found this book to supplement my studies. I really like the information on technical art philosphy.

I've always wanted to understand how an art critic looks at a painting of sculpture. I, too, had to read this for school. My appreciation for art has grown from "this is really cool" to paragraph descriptions! I love art and I have thoroughly enjoyed this class.
